Hike to Bride's Pool
Bride's Pool is a popular place to go for picnic and hiking. The waterfalls are the spot light of this place and there is a sad story behind its name. It was said that a long time ago, a young lady was in love with a young guy. However, her parents did not approve this love affair and she was forced to get married with somebody else that she did not love. The young lady was very upset and she jumped into the pool and died. Since then, this place was named the Bride's Pool. Now you can still have a look at this pool. Water flows down from the waterfall into the plunge pool. Under the bright sun, a rainbow can be seen shinning among the water.
About 24 of us marched towards Tai Po Market KCR Station and started to prepare some food for the picnic. Their opinions were diversified - some suggested BBQ under the hot sun; some suggested buying simple snacks for picnic. Anyway, we took the air-conditioned 75K bus to Tai Mei Tuk. Many of the 5Aces did not realize that this was the place they had visited during the school picnic. They all felt amazed to find that the place was so familiar to them. At the same time, they felt a bit disappointed as they thought they had to stay in this boring place for the second time in a year. However, they were all wrong. We needed to hike for about 45 minutes to reach Bride's Pool. Luckily, we took a short break at the Tourist Information Centre. They rushed into the air-conditioned room and enjoyed the comfortable environment.
After another 30 minutes, they reached the Bride's Pool. They rested for a while and then started to walk along the rocky stream bed.
Along the way, some girls were guided by the boys and walked with extra caution because they have learned a lesson from Terry, who slipped into water by mistake, with nearly half of her body soaked with water. However, no matter how cautious they were, Stella still fell into a trap with water. The rock was slippery and she slipped into it. With more than 30 minutes, we reached the plunge pool.
Let's take some group photos.
On top of the waterfall, you can find the characteristic feature of a stream, pot-hole. It is formed when water carries the sediments downstream such as small pebbles and rock fragments, such sediments are the erosional agents on the stream bed. As the water whirls, erosion is enhanced. We took off our shoes and put our naked feet into the water. The feeling was extra-ordinarily cool!

However, not all of them were willing to nake their feet in front of us. They'd rather stay beside the river and chit-chat. Then, we found a place to settle down and ate the food we brought there.
